What to prepare

Core syllabus

Core areas are basic numerical ability, reasoning/problem solving, general awareness and English; Havaldar adds physical standards and efficiency requirements.

Selection stages

Recent scheme: two-session CBE; Havaldar candidates also complete PET/PST; then document and departmental checks.

Post/skill preparation

Havaldar candidates should not assume one universal physical standard. Gender/category and notified concessions must be checked in the 2026 notice.

Notice gate

The recent scheme is provisional until the 2026 notice appears.

Turn the syllabus into a plan

  1. Copy only headings from the controlling notice.
  2. Break each heading into measurable subtopics.
  3. Take a diagnostic before selecting books or courses.
  4. Use timed practice with the correct marking rule.
  5. Prepare typing/physical/post-specific stages alongside the CBE.

Syllabus boundary

A syllabus names the examinable scope; it does not guarantee equal question distribution. Current-affairs coverage should be verified close to the examination date.
