SSC CGL Exam 2026: Official Dates, Eligibility, Vacancies and Pattern
The application window is closed. Tier I is scheduled tentatively for August-September 2026, followed by Tier II in December 2026.
The latest CGL notice replaces the older March-May calendar dates.
SSC issued the CGL 2026 notice on 21 May. Applications ran from 21 May to 22 June and were later reopened from 23 June at 23:00 to 25 June at 23:00. The notice lists about 12,256 tentative vacancies.

Who is eligible?
Most posts
A bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or equivalent, possessed by 1 August 2026.
Junior Statistical Officer
A bachelor’s degree with at least 60% in Mathematics at Class 12, or Statistics as a degree-level subject.
Statistical Investigator Grade II
A bachelor’s degree in one of the statistical, mathematical, economic, demographic, computing or related disciplines listed in paragraph 8.3.
State-cadre audit/accounts posts
The notice adds proficiency in the concerned State’s regional or official language at matriculation level.
