SSC CGL 2026 Preparation Plan for Sectional Tier I Timers
The 2026 Tier I pattern gives only 15 minutes to each subject, so preparation must combine subject speed with Tier II depth and compulsory DEST readiness.
Train each Tier I subject as a separate 15-minute event.
Build accuracy first, then use timed blocks for Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English. Tier II preparation should begin before Tier I.
12-week structure
| Weeks 1-3 | Diagnostic, official syllabus map, arithmetic/algebra and grammar foundations |
| Weeks 4-6 | Topic drills plus 15-minute subject tests; begin Computer Knowledge and DEST |
| Weeks 7-9 | Mixed Tier I blocks and Tier II Paper I modules; two full simulations per week |
| Weeks 10-11 | High-frequency revision, sectional qualifying checks and error repair |
| Week 12 | Light revision, city/admission instructions and stable sleep/travel plan |
Review every mock
Frequently asked questions
Can I borrow time from English for Quant?
No. Tier I uses separate 15-minute subject timers in the 2026 notice.
When should I start Tier II?
Now. Tier II mathematics, reasoning, English, GA, Computer Knowledge and DEST need more depth than a post-Tier-I sprint allows.
How many mocks?
Use enough to establish stable accuracy and a repeatable strategy; review quality matters more than an arbitrary count.
